The
United Avian Registry is dedicated to the preservation, conservation
& advancement of all avian species by promoting and encouraging
the
perpetuation of bird species through the avocation of
responsible aviculture and propagation of captive birds.
The United Avian Registry endorses and supports bird
species conservation by aviculturists through captive breeding
programs with an emphasis on proper husbandry practices, cooperative
shared knowledge and mutual interaction with fellow enthusiasts.
Goals and General Purpose:
†
To advance and improve the captive breeding practices of bird
species by establishing and maintaining an all-inclusive
genetic record via our database of all registered UAR birds.
†
To promote and encourage registration of captive birds of all
breeds & avian species. Certified registration and documented
ancestral & offspring genealogy data can be valuable to not only
identify the genealogical tree of captive birds and thereby insure
and maintain genetic diversity but traits both desirable and
undesirable can be identified as well.
†
To encourage all breeders of UAR registered birds to use only
exceptional examples of representative species in their breeding
programs. While putting an emphasis on health, type and genetic
diversity.
† To encourage the betterment of avian
wildlife by education of breeders, pet owners and the public of
today's ever changing ideas and advancements in bird husbandry and
care.
Management:
The owners and founders of the United Avian Registry are not only
experienced business people (owners of one of the world's largest
breed specific canine registries) but are also long time avian
breeders and bird fanciers with over 20 years experience in the pet
industry.
The UAR was established in 2007 as a all-inclusive non
breed specific registry for all captive bird species. The UAR has
began to grow in leaps and bounds from its commencement filling the
needed demand of bird fanciers & breeders by offering a registering
company to register their birds and maintain accurate genetic
records of their breeding stock and the descendants that are being
produced from their breeding programs. Many of these breeders are
creating their very own bloodlines, others are working with
endangered species and the UAR is there to assist them with
documentation and recording of their progeny.

We expect the number of registered UAR birds to significantly
increase within the next couple of years due to public awareness of
the UAR and ever growing popularity of bird keeping and breeding.
The United Avian Registry accepts this challenge and we look forward
to showing our professionalism, dedication and commitment to be the
world's largest register for all-avian species.
The UAR offers “Genetic Contribution Percentage” charts. These
charts break down the various genetic contribution percentages of
the ancestry of the birds in your breeding program, therefore
allowing you to better plan your breedings based on line-breeding
around various characteristics that are directly related to
genetic contribution percentages. This is tool that the UAR offers
to assist breeders in maintaining genetic diversity and
monitoring genetic percentages within a breeding program. This
is an invaluable tool when working with color mutations and
recessive and dominate traits.
The UAR also offers 3, 4, and 5 generation certified pedigrees or
genealogical trees as well.
These are beneficial to keep track of your registered bird's
ancestry.
The UAR and its customers are dedicated to the improvement and
advancement of the breeds that we register and breed. We are here
to serve you as a registered bird owner and or breeder. Please feel
